The research in the Gyula Petrányi Doctoral School covers a broad spectrum of immune-related topics from human autoimmunity to infectious diseases and immunodeficiencies. The home for the School is the newly constructed building of the AIDS Research Institute (Institute of Experimental Immunology and Medical Genetics) and Clinical Hospital of the University of Debrecen. Human autoimmunity, molecular pathology and modern therapy of inflammatory as well as infectious diseases and immunodeficiencies are studied here. The regular members have wide Hungarian and international reputation. Doctoral programs: autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, rheumatology, infectious diseases and immunodeficiency.


Admission Requirements

  • Relevant Master degree (Doctor of Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy degrees or MSc degree in the field of molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry; acceptance by a supervisor and a doctoral school (including a preliminary research proposal signed by the supervisor and the head of the school)).
  • English language proficiency (Level B2 by CEFR) OR University of Debrecen oral examination.
